I got my new Phase Linear 700B this weekend and it is AWWWWSOME! This amp was rebuilt by Ed in Washington, who works close with Dean who as many of you probably know, was the factory service manager for Phase Linear back in the day! Ed upgraded the output transistors and they are twice as strong as the originals! I have this amp hooked up to my AR3a's and I have to say, they open right up with this amp and what a fantastic "tubey" sound! The filter caps are as big as a coke can!! Here are some pics.:music:

Congrats! Nice looking amp!! But what's that coke can doing in there? Things go better with Coke!

I think there are deadly voltages in all amplifiers that work from 120V. But how high are the PL 700 voltage rails? I know that 200 WPC needs +/-40V, so 350WPC?

Way to go!!

Congrats to your new piece of gear, i am very impressed by that phase linear, it sounds awsome on those AR3a's of yours, cant wait for you to get the matching pre-amp so we can enjoy some good jazz and some 8-o-clock coffee,:thmbsp: happy tuning my friend.:music: the bird

Shallow as far as depth of the main case but those heat sinks are enormous. Very nice indeed....and a big amp watt space saver. What's the weight on it? My Mc 501's are 120lbs+ packed..

Not sure on that model, but all of Bob Carver's amps are very hi current. Those main filter caps are probably 100 volt, make sure to discharge those before any work is done inside.

wow that amps a monster its not 360 watt per ch i thought it was 360 but 500 wow thats incredible.

my cerwin vega A-2200 power amp is rated at 375 watts per ch. HAHA but geez 500 haha my 18 would love that power

i got 2 A-2200 power amps so that makes it 700 watts of power haha pretty cool i guess if you wanna go deaf haha

I love it. To me, nothing is as cool as a Phase Linear. I've always wanted one of those U.S. made beasts! Very nice.
