Can anyone please help me verify the identity of this needle?
thanks!

No, the box is definitely a Grado box. I doubt that generics are even available.
Looks like a simple shipping mistake, should be fairly painless to rectify - just send the supplier your first picture.
Also, I do not believe that the color of the "dots" on the 8MZ are black, so that is definitely a Black 1 stylus.
no color dots on the 8MZ, just hand etched as previously noted.
Ahhh, good to know. Thanks for the clarification, I stand corrected!no color dots on the 8MZ, just hand etched as previously noted.
Well,
emailed customer service and they instructed me to ship it back and they will replace it with the right needle.
Now I'll have to wait till christmas (well "Hanuka" actually) to enjoy it.
Not so horrible since I don't have any matching TT or tonearm for it right now. It's intended for my Grado G2 cart, and a certain Thorens TD160 i'm planning to renovate
Thanks again for the help!

I have an 8mz and the diamond appears bonded - not nude. I think I read that they made a change. 8MZ is etched into the plastic.

odd........the G1 was never suggested to load at 47K.......the paperwork said 10K or above. If it sounds right in your system, then that's the load for it, for you. I could never get mine to flesh out that high.I use an 8MZ on my G1 cart and it seems magical at a regular 47K loading: not bright, but rich, clean, well-balanced. Trust your ears, and if you need to play with the resistance, do it.
