Grado MF-3 P-Mount to 1/2" Adapter

Well, the reason I asked is I want to get good value for my money. If a $100 stylus isn't going to sound much better than the $55 one on this body I spent all of 10 bucks on, I'm not real inclined to buy the premium stylus. On the other hand, I don't want to buy the $55 one if the $100 one takes it to a whole different level. This would be a companion / backup cart to my Sonus Blue Gold on the Thorens 160, so I'd like it to at least be comparable in sound quality, if not specific sonics.

My other option would be to buy a high quality stylus for my Stanton 680EE and run it as the backup. The generic it has on there now isn't very good, and the Pickering V15 puts it to shame.

My first two "audiophile" carts were a MA 2002, and a Sonus Blue. I have no idea where the Micro Acoustics ran off to. The Sonus I kept on my Sony PS-X7 table for the wife's use. (both now gone.....cart and table that is) I don't think an 8MZ shod grado is gonna be embarrassed. Oh, and the "premium" stylus from Grado that will fit that body runs 5 times the cost of the 8MZ. Just sayin :yes:
 
well, $500 for a stylus on a cart I paid $10 for is just not something I'm keen on. I'm OK with 100 bucks or so for the 8MZ, but if the 8MZ isn't going to sound noticeably better than the $55 "correct" stylus, then I'm not super inclined to spend that either. I don't mind spending money, but I loathe wasting it.
