GTA/Ontario - Boston Acoustics A200 - $150 (North York)

Not a steal, but a nice price for a speaker that has a bit of a following here on AK. Look to be in good condition too.

I spoke to the chap - very nice. He purchased these from the original owner (an older gentleman) who was running them with McIntosh gear. He said home and all the gear was immaculate.

We discussed shipping them to me but at the end too expensive to make this a worthwhile purchase.

Shipping them 2500kms would be too expensive. I'd jump on them for $150 locally.

No not at all!! If you read a little more closely it was the shipping that made them an impractical purchase.

Agree with Mac - if local they would be in my basement!
Which is what I told the nice chap in Toronto.
I don't see these lasting long if as described to me.

They're still listed. I'm surprised. Honestly, I thought they'd be gone by the first time I posted this. Dunno - I guess it's the wide, tall n flat shape that keeps these from getting sold.

But as stated above when I talked to the guy he said they came from an older gentleman's home...run by quality gear, etc.

My only guess was that Toronto had a glut of this kinda thing on their market - not here in Winnipeg....don't see A200's often...I haven't at all in some years.

Too bad shipping was just too much cash!

I did tonight. They are as advertised and look better then pics in Ad. Foam surrounds are in great shape, couple minor flaws on each cabinet and edges are clean. These are beauties. Will be testing a little later on bedroom Yamaha cr-600 and have a Marantz 1060 and Mc250 in living room to test tomorrow.
