h/k Chorale.

I bought one recently and will probably start restoring it this summer. I believe its a later model. Looks like its been worked on before.... including one of the output transformers has been replaced. Note the different SNs stamped on them in the photo.

I've had one of these for about 15 years. There have been several versions, and mine is the last one.

A260 Info on AK

The volume control in my A260 is bad, and the unit is essentially unrestored except for the output coupling caps. It's not part of my system, and I only use it to occasionally match quads of 6P3S-E and other NOS 6L6 variants for bias current. I suspect quite a few controls/switches would have to be replaced in order to actually restore mine. I'm not interested in doing that, so like the other HK amps and receivers that I have in storage, its transformers will eventually be removed for a power amp. A TA7000X receiver donated the iron to the amplifier below. FWIW, the angle of the tubes in the A260 probably aids heat dissipation (as mentioned in one of the original posts in this thread), but the main reason for this was to make them fit under the optional top cover.
