Rescue Dog

Short, bowed legs pumping
Leaping toward her new love
No longer homeless
No longer searching for food
No longer a stray.

Ageless Wisdom

Baby awakens
God eyes stare in innocence
New, but all knowing.

Beautiful, @bobsvinyl . Thank you.

Kelpie

Rescued a Kelpie
Holy crap; pup is posessed!
Wait..must have patience.
'Twas only adolescence.
God's best gift ever.

DNU: ok, maybe not THE best, but he IS an amazingly loving creature.

Appreciated the innate religious overtones!

Always a place for repetition!

Each time the helplessness was shared.

Very true, MC. I think the love of a rescue dog is up at the top of the list of pure emotion. Except when the little turd chewed up 4 sofa throw pillows while we were out.

HUNGER

Hands and hearts pleading
crying, shouting, whimpering,
for pieces of bread.

Like humans...no dog is perfect.

FELINE

Through slitted slim eyes
seeming asleep, you notice
that furry brown mouse.

Brutal Winter

Freight train wind screaming
Ripping branches from the trees
It's icy rage bared.

"wind screaming" caught me in your word-web!

Personification nailed as well.

SPRING

Distant memories
of warm pleasant times, lying
on green grassy knolls.

ICE DAGGERS

Hanging sliver-like
slender slices of cold ice
poised, ready to fall
on unsuspecting walkers
daring those who might look up.
