The Last Wilderness
Your secrets were found,
Dug out by shovels and picks
And then laid open.
Deep scars cover your sad face,
Your smile has been stripped away.
And back then, we all flirted with smoky death.Cigarette
Dead lungs fill with smoke.
Eyes half closed in ecstasy.
Fingers pinch the tongue,
Removing the tobacco.
A strange love/hate relation.
Fortune 500
You're a store bought man,
Deaf, blind as Helen Keller
But without the soul.
Try to change but you cannot,
So accept your heartless course.
Pollution
A brown haze rises up,
installing itself as king.
Mindlessly moving,
Spreading it's malignant brand
Of industrial age angst.
,
Procrastination
Weathered wooden step,
Rusted nails and dried out wood
Have made it a risk
Wobbling like an old drunk,
Left to be cared for some day.
Two amps, one speaker,
Use a switcher to be safe,
Or smoke fills the room.
