Those Bad Boiz were Hallicrafters"Blue Plate specials" Pretty sure they were 5 tube specials, & as such they were not too great. Halli made some marvellous radios thru the years, but these were/are pretty pedestrian..

Spent many summer evenings as an early teen listening to one of those at my parents' cottage on Martha's Vineyard ("sigh!")...

i think i still have one left kicking around here somewhere.

At least they seem to be priced reasonably, this guy has been selling a bunch of radio and audio stuff on CL and some of his prices have been downright hilarious.

Not sure how heavy these are, but I wouldn't trust that table with all those on it.

They're not particularly heavy; not really "boatanchor" class.
Series-string, transformerless, "killer" sets.

Wow. I though I was bad having four of 'em...two similar to the ones shown...including a straight S-38 w/BFO before they deleted that feature and a pair of E models. They aren't all that bad...a bit deaf above 15 mHz and kinda vague in the tuning department...but fun!
