A few not mentioned but worth digging for;
Thriller---a cruel picture. This is Tarantino's favorite revenge film & some of Kill Bill is based on it.
House at the edge of the park. Rape movie and mindgames.
Hitchhike. Like above, another Daivid Hess mindgames movie.
Death Weekend. Another toughie to find.

I can't remember if it's been mentioned or not, but I forgot to suggest Near Dark. A vampire film set in a contemporary setting, which brilliantly NEVER uses the word vampire.
I think it's the best modern-day (if you count 1987 as modern) vampire film. The soundtrack still works (Tangerine Dream) and with the exception that some very well known actors look 20 years younger, it doesn't feel dated. Good gore, black humor, and a couple dozen great quotables. My Favorite:
Caleb Colton: Jesse? Exactly how old ARE you?
Jesse Hooker: Let's put it this way... I fought for the south. We lost.
Adrian Pasdar - Jenni Wright - Bill Paxton (who chews the scenery) - Lance Henriksen - Jenette Goldstein, and Tim Thomerson

Let me just say this: Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. All the stories, movies, and general eeriness is amazing to me. The one time a year when this culture acknowledges 'the dark side' . 
I am a huge horror-movie guy. My scariest pick would have to be The Silence of the Lambs. Maybe not, but there are so many to choose from. All the Friday the 13th movies were kinda cool, up until the 90s. lol.

Session 9 was pretty cool - the whole film was set in the deralict Danvers State Mental Institution - Very creepy.
