Happy Birthday Merrylander

Happy Birthday Rob! :thmbsp:

Here's hoping it's one of the best!

Happy B-day to you Rob. Please take a break from making Yamaha's better than new and enjoy a great day with Florence!

Thank you for all the kind wishes, y'all are a great bunch.

Yes I was alive for Pearl, ruined my 11th B'day but ruined a heck of a lot of other peoples day far more than mine. That was supposed to be the war to end all wars - we don't learn do we.

I was alive for the Battle of Britain, too - and lived through the Great Depression. The funny part is that when I was in my twenties I had the feeling I would never see forty, now I look back at forty as the year I got involved in the international standards area and began my world travels. Now I have no desire to board another airplane.

So here's to seventy-six, am taking Florence out to dinner for a quiet celebration - and a couple of martinis.

In no way am I trying to preserve this old body to make a presentable corpse, I plan on sliding into my grave with everything used up and a martini in hand.

You are making me remember too many things. WW II brings to mind King George's address to the Commonwealth on New Years Day and the anonymous quotation he always used;

I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year “ Give me a light so that I may tread safely into the unknown”
And He replied . . .
”Go out into the unknown and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than a light and safer than a known way”

Probably the best advice I can give you all for the coming year, it's what I plan on doing.

Rob

Happy birthday Rob, thanks for all your help keeping those Yamaha's lit up like birthday candles, Dave.

Sincerest best wishes to one of the best of a damned good bunch.
Amen to that! Happy Birthday, Rob!:thmbsp:

[sorry, toze, you're just at the upper end of the quotable quotient]

Could have something to do with Florence's culinary skills.

Or perhaps your bartending skills. :D
