Harbeth Owners Thread

Greetings!

I'm looking at a pair of used Harbeth HL Compact 7 speakers later today, from 1994. I'm wondering if they use the Radial drivers? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.
 
I still have Harbeth's Original Monitor 40 that I bought 20 years ago. When Harbeth's were the King in Asia and before Alan Shaw voiced his speakers for the US market. Absolute best speaker for human voice and acoustic music.
 
My Harbeth H.L. Monitor III's are still going strong 50 years on!

After rebuilds of the original Swisstone Electronics cast alloy poly cone woofers along with crossover recap and ferrofluid service in the HF drivers. They still hold their own over many much newer contenders that have come around when tested side-by-side. They were purchased new imported from the UK into Hong Kong and then brought to So. California in 1997 when the Crown gave it back.

King of Asia indeed.........

Also have pairs of IMF BBC studio monitors here that we are fond of as well.

I just got a pair of Resonant Woods Linear II series for my Harbeth C7ESR-XD's. I'm wondering if the little clear rubber dots on the stands are safe long-term for the finish? My worry is that after a long enough time, if I go to take the speakers off the stands, the rubber will have attached itself to the finish or will stain or otherwise mark/damage the finish.

Anyone have experience with these stands and could confirm whether they are safe for the finish? I usually use IsoAcoustics IsoPucks between stands and speakers, mostly just because I feel like the rubber on them protects the finish.

The dots should be fine. Never had any of them damage my speakers including any of the Harbeth’s I’ve owned.

Okay, just wanted to be sure. On closer inspection the texture of the dots doesn't seem like it'd stick to the finish or anything, but they don't seem very soft and given how small they are I was a bit worried they'd cause indentations in the veneer over time.
