Harman Kardon 330A recapping

@dlucy , I noticed something and wanted to ask why such a large jump from original. For C918, the original was 220 uF 25 V and your replacement jumped to 1500 uF 35 V. I assume this is OK because it in the power section but wasnt sure why the big jump from 220 to 1500. Can you provide some detail on this?

Also would like a more recent recommendation for the trim pot replacements. One of the items noted is obsolete and not available at mouser. Thanks
 
Wondering how much of the 330b list for transistors and diodes and maybe trimpots carries over. I'm going to do my 330b because I'm selling it and the fella asked if it was recapped and I said "no, but I kind of want to because there's this guy on Audiokarma.." and then I saw a 330A for sale cheap so I bought it and will do both at once, or at least the stuff that's the same (maybe one right after the other, I dunno).
But in terms of putting my order together, I'm kinda wondering, Mr. dlucy, if most of the transistors will carry over. Not the end of the world to put in another order, more about buying in bulk on this one. Definitely getting lots of KSC1845F 's anyway, they seem to be very generally useful and maybe going extinct in the not too distant future...

I'm currently working on a 330a restoration and I'm wondering the same. What is the reason for the significant increase in capacitance in that particular spot?
 
What I recall is that I found a 1000/35 cap there, not a 220... so I bumped it up to 1500 when I recapped. I don't think it makes a significant difference, so replace with whichever you like.

Mine is the same as what yours was. Schematic says 220, but it's a 1000 on the unit. I hadn't yet pulled the cap out of the glue to confirm, which I just did. I appreciate the quick reply!
