What do you mean by "Fine"??? Fine by Ok or amazing? If I have to replace capacitors in this C12 Deluxe, I don't want to put "OK" caps, I'd like very very good, great but not the over top that cost way too much....

Just want to give justice to this fine piece

The choice of caps here will not have an effect on the sound other than to serve their purpose: to eliminate hum in the power supply (the four big cans) and filter out transients on the supply rails.

There is an input coupling cap -- should be 250mfd 15v -- if you want to try an audiophile capacitor.

Here I am back and I found out an issue with the Citation 12 Deluxe. My tech went over the C11 & C12 and discovered that there's an issue with the C12 and its Capacitors. These ones exactly:

CAPACITOR 6000uF-50V
HK part # 31524564
Dimension: Diamètre 45mm, hauteur 75mm

Was wondering if anyone would know a place that would sell the exact original ones as I'd love to be able to keep everything in its original state. Worst come to worst, what would be the best ones that would be as close as possible to original and would fit perfectly and would not decrease the sound quality but would be as the original or improves even more.

Thank you for any input, crossing finger that someone out there have or still distribute the original ones.

Ok I undeerstand now about the purpose of the caps.

Now all I want to make sure is that my Tech guy gets to buy the right capacitors (audiophile grade), so should he go with the Elna electrolytic caps or better then Elna? Let me know

My Tech guy sent me these links, are these any good and would fit to my C12 Deluxe or better go with the ones in your link?

These are recommended by your Tech?

You need to print a schematic for the 12 from HiFi Engine.com. https://www.hifiengine.com/
Just off the top of my head the power caps are 50 volt. it would be too exciting to replace with a 30v cap. Best to at least equal capacitor specs when replacing. Easy to exceed voltage specs. Value to be replaced is 6000uf or higher.
Which is better, these or the link I gave is likely not a concern.
Go with whatever the tech decides as he is warranting the work.

Thanks again for the support. I go have the schematic of the original 12Deluxe. And yes you're right, the power caps are exactly ; 6000uF - 50v avec un diamètre de 40mm,

I talked to my tech guy and I personally would like to find something very very close or similar or a little higher but keep the diameter of 40mm the same that way I stay original as possible.

And I also want to get audiophile grade caps not some so so so caps just to get the 12 Deluxe running, I want to respect as much possible this unit.

My Tech found me the following audiophile grade caps, what you guys think?

As he explained to me, the Big caps, its gonna be hard to find ones that have the uF like the original at 6000uF but he told me if we can't find that has the same , its always good to go a little higher than original ones.

Any feedbacks on those caps of the first link would be appreciated. I know that the ones that would fit directly in terms of diameter would be the: Nichicon Capacitor 6800uF 63Vdc KG Super Through

Now the question is which of these brand have or would be best for the 12Deluxe : Nichicon /Jensen or Mundorf

Or what about the ELna ?

If you want caps with the same diameter as the originals, and the Nichicon 6800mfd 63V KG Super Through are the same diameter as the originals, then they're the ones to choose. It's unlikely you'd notice a sonic difference between any of the choices you've listed.

The cheap Nichicon would work for me. Keeping in mind the value of the AMP and dumping $100 in caps for the power supply is roughly 30% of it's value.
The better reason to spend more would be for the size, for looks. I doubt any difference in sound.

Thank you so much guys for confirming this subject, means a lot and feel now safe to know that either of these CAPS won't affect the sound in any way, really will come down to mostly matter of fitting. So I'lll go and talk to my Tech and I think will be easier to go with ELNA Caps if they have the right diameter. I personally would like to put my hands on caps that fits right with the right diameter this way we keep all intact as original.

How’s the Jensen? I think the amp put out high DC voltage at the time which burned up the voice coil in the woofer?

Sorry for the late reply. But yes I believe that is exactly what happened to my Jensen speaker. Its one of them that the the woofer has fried. Not moving at all. I wonder if that is fixable or not, I really liked the sound of the Jensen to be honest. I'm gonna do some reseach and find a good Restore Tech speaker and see if he can bring back the woofer to life ;-)
 
If 90 db is efficient by most people standards to day then the 95+ db at 1 m 1 watt of a Bozak is a real plus. I know its not 100 db + of Altecs JBLs and other horn loaded speakers. But 90% of the time you will be using less than 5 watts. Thats efficient compared to folks willing to spend monies for 200 watt per channel amps for the average speaker people choose now days. Just think the very popular AR-3/3a being built the same time as the 302 were only 86 db 4 ft 1 watt.
