Has this Son of Ampzilla been restored?

I have been unable to date this amp, and from what I read they stopped making this style in the 80’s.

The Panasonic FM caps in this guy were not produced till the 2000’s.

So, is the amp restored, or was it built in the 2000’s?

i don't know the amp but it looks like to-66 transistors were replaced with to-220.

Looks like it's been totally rebuilt and the VI limiters have been eliminated also.

Thanks. The owner dropped it off for a rebuild. I dont think it needs it.

Powered up on dim bulb and it passed. Powered up on full mains and checked DC at speakers. All good.

Connected speakers and a preamp and it works perfectly.

Trying to find out where the owner got this from. Would be interesting to find out who restored it. Very nice job I will say.

Also, the TO-220 transistors are On-Semi. From what I can find they started branding the MJE in 1999.

Has new trim pots too. I replaced the main output caps in mine as well. Bias? DC offset?

Bias is 15mv across one emitter resistor. Both channels.

DC bounces around a bit. 10mv on one channel and 13mv on the other.

It runs cool so I am leaving it as is.
