I've been to that Kelowna shop when it opened. He had some good prices back thenI live in Surrey, born in North Van and a lifelong reident of the Lower Mainland. Vancouver had independant record stores which I visited and shopped at since the 1960's. A couple of them survived to this day. A few newer ones cropped up within the past 20 or so years and a some even newer ones more recently.
A couple I've not visited because they're inconvenient as hell to get to in Downtown Vancouver and parking costs a fortune. I figure the clientele they're after are the well off, carless, upwardly mobile who can afford the million dollars (give or take) it costs to own a one bedroom condo or the $3000 per month it takes to rent it.
Therefore, I cannot afford to shop in those.
There are some shops I visit regularly and a few semi-regularly. I'm also aware of one or two thrift stores that seem to get a greater than average amount of music I'm interested in.
But one record store I visited less than two weeks ago really impressed me and it was in Kelowna not Vancouver. Prices were not dirt cheap but the selection, organization and tidiness was top notch. They had two copies on hand of a record I've been trying to find for over a year.
Can you please tell me the name of this record store as I'll be in Kelowna in the next week or so to see some family and golf? But one record store I visited less than two weeks ago really impressed me and it was in Kelowna not Vancouver.
