Have you NOT seen the movie Titanic ?

I saw the picture a couple of times at the show and was thought the ending was quite emotional and much sobbing and catching of throats was heard in the packed theater. It’s a good movie that many people enjoyed and I wonder if many of those who now rap the movie were enthralled with it upon its release. I observe that it seems to be a thing now to not like the movie or to refuse to even consider or watch it. But what you like is your business.

The 1953 Fox picture has Barbara Stanwyck looking glorious. Jean Negulesco did a good job.

Nope - I don't do Saline Dion. Tried watching the '53 version last night on TCM but after 15 min. I decided I'd rather watch paint dry.

Clifton Webb (R) & Harper Carter (as father and son).

Harper Carter today (age 78).

"If you don't get in that life boat, you'll regret it. Maybe not now, maybe not in 30 minutes, but soon, and for the rest of your life" !

"Kurtz got out of the boat, then he got out of the boat business. Never get out of the boat".

I realize many people hate 'conspiracy theories', but I find this one interesting.

If the wrecked Titanic has propeller number 401 on it, it would be proof for this theory, maybe.

It's not just this guy saying it. The story originated shortly after the sinking.

The ships were switched. The people who were building both ship knew which ship they were building.

The Near twins Olympus and Titanic at the Harland and Wolff shipyards. The Titanic is on the right.

I seen it the first week it came out in the theaters, you all remember those don't you?

I took a blind date that I picked up over the phone;)
She was a Taxi dispatcher and I don't know but she was fun to talk to on the phone and sounded sweat. She kept putting me on hold and I was waiting for a cab anyway, so about the fifth hold I said hey you want to go see a movie?...........or something?

She said sure, what do you want to see?
I don't know, that new Titanic movie has a lot of hype
Ok sounds good...

The movie wasn't bad and neither was she, I liked both......

As in all disaster movies.
The building burns down, the Damn busts and sweeps away the village, the volcano erupts etc.
Same script, different scenery

So true, but as I pointed out in the movie The Wave you have a good story that is based on reality, and the story is completely believable because it mirrors actual events, and does not go overboard.

I've seen it twice, just a damn tragedy, and when I was watching it the wrenching feeling hit me that we all are sailing on our own pending doom called Titanic and the icebergs are always out there waiting.

One scene that keeps me from ever watching it again is when the water bursts into the statetoom of the older couple, the woman holding tight to her man, unwilling to leave him for the boats that were offered to her.

Hoping there's room in my personal titanic in the lifeboat:D
