Have you rediscovered a LP or CD you haven't played in a while?

Also recently had a fling with Genesis' eponymous album from '83 .......Whichever side of the Genesis fence you're on, and whatever later befell Mr. Collins, "Home By The Sea" is a spectacular vocal.

Agreed! A wonderful example of his ability. I too just broke this one out and gave it a spin recently. Forgot how groovy it was/is.

Why, just last night. I'd forgotten about this gem of a Scottish band's best LP...

If you like "Oh Bondage,Up Yours",check out their album "Germfree Adolecsents" from 1978.There is a 180g vinyl reissue of it.IMHO its the great forgotten punk album.

I had the album from when it first came out and played it to death. But the single came first and that's what I was intending to keep for posterity.

I really liked Yes, but for their individual brilliance more than their actual recordings. Like ELP, they could be fantastic one minute, bombastic the next. some of the playing on their live albums was pretty eye-opening. But, in most cases, the albums were multi-tracked and over-produced (didn't stop some of them having good tracks on them - love "And You And I").

Just a couple weeks ago, I put on Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs, fully intending to only listen to a couple tracks. I wound up doing the entire album and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it!

Just yesterday I dug out Nillson's "Duit On Mon Dei" and ended up playing it twice. No-one ever seems to play him anymore....well over here anyway.

Last week I did the Doors ""An American Prayer" and I'll probably give this one another few years in limbo. Maybe this one's just a bit too self indulgent for me.

Co-incidentally, I played "Schmillson" (shoot me if the spelling's not correct:)) about 3 weeks ago. Twice. But I guess I'm from Melbourne, so it took me that long to get it...

Nice idea for a thread

I actually rediscovered a whole box of CD's which I never unpacked after a move a few years ago. This was a while back still, but you get the idea.

In it I found originals of New Order, The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Emerson Lake & Palmer, and a crapload of other artists. Probably 25-30 discs total.

I also love when I find a copied CD (CDR) that someone made for me, and it has nothing written on it. Time to set the tone controls to defeat mode and slowly inch up on that volume attenuator to see what we've got.... and......Damn, its only a Knack best of CD (lol).

A concept album that might of been an Inspiration for "The wall"

Old Genesis double recording-
"The lamb lies down on Broadway"
The bands last album with Peter gabriel.
I found a used CD last week at my local record store.
I had forgotten what a classic masterpiece it is!

Try Quicksilver messenger service, or Gratful Dead - American Beauty, The Guess Who - Live At The Paramont, Stones - Sticky Fingers. I could go on and on because all I usually listen to is classic rock from the 50's 60's and 70's the best music ever.

I really like yes alot. Here are my LP's
The best I've seen lately is their live DVD. They are old but still rock and the stage and sound are great. These guys still play great.
