Headphone vinyl setup recommendations :)

Hi there I’m moving to an apartment for grad school and I am selling most of my gear and leaving the rest for my dad. I am only keeping a Beyer dt 990 and fiio e10k.

Need some recommendations pls and thanks!!

I want to do a headphone listening setup to play vinyl (and stream). I am also handy so vintage is probably preferred to save money too and I can service etc.

My question is: should i spend more money on turntable/cart, phono pre, or headphones? I am ok with the 990s. Or should I just buy a vintage integrated (for eye candy too)? I’ve been eyeing a vintage scott tube amp for example.

Any tips on this setup?
I’m gonna keep my cans, buy a headphone amp + phono pre, OR an integrated vintage amp, then buy a vintage turntable. IME it seems as long as I got a good cart, vintage turntables (80-150$) are all the same, and it mostly benefits from tweaks and the cartridge. Or do you think I completely wrong and I should be spending all my money on turntable and cart? I have good quality vinyl (and Deezer) so I’m not worried about source per se.

Budget? Nothing too cheap, nothing too pricey, you know how it is. Im cashing in a lot of summer job money plus selling equipment (about 1200$ worth of gear already sold). Would be awesome to buy all I need for 500 bones.

… Do I really want a Schiit amp?

Thanks for reading!!

I'd buy a good vintage receiver. As long as you are using an MM cartridge, there are many good vintage receivers out there. Then, you can hook small monitor speakers, just in case you want others to hear the tunes. :)
