Long time lurker that has been working on a Sansui AU 517.
The unit was/in working condition, but at times is was such a sweet sounding unit and next time it was really thin using same source audio files. (DC offsets and boards set at 30mv)
I would like to give a thanks to Leestereo, Hyperion and many others for their posts have been invaluable.
I'm going to do my best to post pics and update the upgrade.

Welcome.

Hope your coupling switch on the back panel is making good contact. Mine acts wonky sometimes. Switching it usually fixes it.

You should post this project in Solid State or Sansui.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

Thanks for the heads up. The coupling switch seems to be working fine. I have used the unit as a preamp for two mono blocks, and as a stand alone amp with another pre amp.

I will move to the Solid State- Sansui forum in the future.
