Long time lurker finally decided might be a good idea to make an account so I can get some help and advice from some of you audiophile jedi masters. I'm 35 work in IT have always loved music, electronics and tinkering. Recently moving to a larger home and now I have space to collect more and bigger audio equipment. One of my favorite hobbies at the moment is buying old vintage gear and fixing it up ,touching up paint, recapping, Deoxing etc. Currently working on my late fathers Concept 5.5 receiver. Bit of a love hate relationship at the moment right channel works fine left channel was interment now completely gone.. If anyone has in depth knowledge about this old receiver or have one the you want to go to a loving new home let me know. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to AK!
If I remember correct Concept was Pacific Stereo’s house brand and well liked.
Not familiar with your model, but I bet not before long someone will have some insight for you

Welcome Jay. I can tell you that receiver is a good unit, house brand of Pacific Stereo and well regarded. I've worked on many of them in that series. From your description of the non working channel I'd say it's a good chance it needs cleaning of switches and controls to restore function, quite common. With volume low try operating selector, function and tape monitor switches multiple times, anything in the signal path, dropped channel might return, probable even. If not start a thread with Concept 5.5 in the title, channel dropping, and start the trouble shooting process. Assuming the receiver is part of a system your dad purchased at the time what are the other components, especially the speakers.
