The gear
Not much I´m afraid. This used to be a communist country some 21 years ago so only very rich people were able to get Sony or Akai reel to reel decks. We used to have our own hi-fi brand called TESLA. I own some of their machines and will introduce them later. I get most of my gear from Germany and German e-bay. The costs are however enormous compared to American: "Hi guys, I got this TEAC brand new in a thrift store for 15 bucks"
Btw. There are no thrift stores in our country.
Pro-Ject used to be called TESLA-Litovel before revolution. I am nowhere near, but their turtables are good. Some 1970´s and 1980´s Tesla turntables were so good that they deserved comparison with the best like DUAL etc. Tesla Litovel went private after the revolution I think and now they make and market their products as Pro-Ject.

Well, yes and no since commies didn´t care about maintaining historical buildings at all. But hey, this is about audio, not politics
Greetings and welcome to AK! My niece just spent the summer in Prague and took some college classes and she loved it! She discovered the wonders of Czech beer and got to spend time with her long lost cousins. It was lucky that they spoke English because the Czech language is very difficult to learn. Hope to hear from you often.

KR Tube Audio is a very well regarded award winning manufacturer of tube audio. They make high end gear and are too expensive for my budget or I would have had my niece do some shopping for me. They have a retail store in Prague.

Hello! Oh, yes. Czech language is insanely difficult for foreigners, but it is also very powerful and melodic. About the beer: I´d be more than happy to give you some recommendations

Tatra´s are legendary cars. The real beauties. They were unafordable for "normal" people. Only communist officials and some very very rich people were actually allowed (and could afford) to buy them.
