HELP connecting active bookshelves to active subwoofer

Hi,

I am looking to get the Thonet & Vander KÜRBIS bluetooth bookshelves in a few days and was wondering if in the future, i would be able to connect it to the POLK PSW10 subwoofer (also active) so I can use them together even with bluetooth? Please HELP!!

I was wondering if it would be possible to connect wire from the speaker out of the powered bookshelf to the LEFT speaker level input on the sub and connect wire from the LEFT speaker level output on the sub to the PASSIVE bookshelf speaker?

You could do that. But. you'll only get the left channel bass signal. It might not be a problem with some music, and no so great with other selections.

I'd probably just source a "Y" adapter solution and call it a day.

That solution will not work with Bluetooth, however. With the connections provided on the speakers, there is no way to get both channels going to the subwoofer. You may want to look to see if there are Bluetooth speakers available with a wired subwoofer output.

You are correct, and i hadn't considered that Bluetooth connectivity might have been the OP's sole reason for using these.

If the OP is a bit tech savvy, he could install a pair of spring clip terminals(or terminals of his choice) jumped directly from both L + R speaker outputs at the amplifier board.

As you have 2 active shelf speakers (L and R), what you can do is to connect the speaker out of each channel to the speaker level input of the subwoofer.
So the actives L and R will take information from the bluetooth, and transmit it to the subwoofer.

He does not have 2 active speakers.

You might want to take a look at the first pic, in the first post.

He has an active system with all amplification built into the right speaker which in turn sends a low impedance signal to the left passive speaker. There is but one speaker terminal, for the left speaker, as per the OP's explanation and pics.

I'd probably grab the low level input right after the bluetooth module (assuming it's separate from the amp, which probably isn't a good assumption, as these boards are usually tightly integrated) instead and wire to a pair of RCAs. But I wouldn't want to make any changes to them while they were under warranty.
