Help connecting multiple decks

Other than the first Akai unit in the photos, I have never seen even ONE of the others listed on Ebay since 2005! So I guess "unobtanium" takes on new meaning! I think a lot of those were limited to hifi stores for component A-B listening demos for customers! Sure like to get my hands on one! I could use it. Even with my SB-300, I'm switching too many interconnects.

I found the Pioneer on another auction site I had never heard of and it was at $950+…who knows where it will end up…so unless I find one locally at an estate sale or something ...probably not going to get one..:tears:

I think I'm going to use the realistic for now....easy to hide...as long as it doesn't effect sound quality.

I also have a Pioneer RG-1 on the way I picked up on that auction site for 6 bucks and some change....now for an EQ.

I have a Technics switcher, 5 amps, 5 phono, 5 tape, 10 speakers, you can switch any one to any other, nice bit of kit which I bought off the bay, only one I have ever seen. I believe they were only available to dealers.

What model Realistic did you buy?? I am short on cash and need one too. Tired of unhooking RCA cables as I have 2 R2R and a cassette recorder I need to connect to. I don't need a EQ my AVR has that covered.

I am ready too hook all this up. I got the RG-1 in and was going to run all the decks to the Realistic switch...then to the RG-1..to receiver...The manual is kind of confusing for the RG-1. It says RG in to Tape REC and RG out to Tape PLAY...that seems backwards to me.

Anyone know how to run my receiver's tuner to the RG-1? Would I use Pre-Out and Main-In?

Normally such a switch box would act as a input/output extender - hence it would be connected to your amplifiers tape in and tape out - not pre out/main in

Don't that receiver has tape in/out ???? any receiver i can think of has (unless it is very modern)

If a receiver has a input selector - like tuner_aux_phono it has the needed tape connectors could be called rec out/ tape in
