Help - electro-voice interface b equalizer

Hi all
I am a little lost as I have a great pair of speakers, all good condition but they are missing there outboard EQ.
The speakers are EV Interface B and I was wondering if anyone may know where I could get my hands on an ELECTRO-VOICE INTERFACE B EQUALIZER??
Any help would be REALLY apreciated.

Keep an eye out on Epay. They come up farily often. I've got I think every version of the SEQ/EQ box from EV.

I even got one NIB a few months ago.

AFAIK, the Interface A OR Interface B EQ should work well with either speaker. Not much difference to speak of, really.

In fact, IIRC, I'm using an Interface B box with my Interface As in my workshop...

You can used your IF-B with all types of EV-Eq`s, the have all the same construction, the difference are only 4 resistors for the different speakers.

Michael-Otto are there diagrams easily available to show a tech how to do this?

Also a question for all. How much does the EQ transform these speakers. The literature suggests that it makes a world of difference.

Also which amplifiers are you having most luck with. From what I am hearing from my Naim Nait2, 17 watt solid state amp I am thinking a nice valve amp from 15 to 30 watts would be ideal????????
 
Or maybe just an equalizer in the tape loop if you can find out what the equalization curve is? I might be getting some KEF 107.2s without equalizer "kube" and I was thinking for doing that...
 
There are actually two; one is a Buy-it-now ending in an hour for $99 and the other is a real auction with six-days left.
 
The second one you speak of is for the EQ with speakers and all original papers thrown in.
Looks like no one wants to take on the project as the speakers need a bit of work, surrounds etc.
It seems crazy I have just offered $40 for the EQ alone but then again $40 seems cheap when you dont have one!

Be patient Grasshopper... I bought NIB for $10 and they were selling like 4 of them at the same time. There's not a lot of folks that need/want these boxes. There's a lul right now cept that $99 one which is WAY over the top.

EDIT: Don't expect a real big change in the sound with the EQ box. They are basically designed to lower the bass which will be hard to hear (more of a feel) and the adjustment on the box is for the tweets/horns if ya got'em. (more noticeable but still subtle).

The equalizer
An active electronic equalizer is an integral part of the Inter¬face: B's design. Its Iow-frequency contour extends bass response without increasing the size of the cabinet.
(The same response without the equalizer would have required a cabinet twice as large.) The amaunt of the boost is quite small so the equalizer places no strain an your amplifier.
The equalizer also contains an active filier which removes distortion-producing subsonic noise, and aliows you to tailor high-frequency response to the acoustics of your room.
The equalizer can be connected in the Tape monitor circuit of most amplifiers or receivers or between the preamplifier and power amplifier.

Equalizer Specifications:
Total Harmonie Distortion: Lass than .01%, 1 V RMS input, 20-20,000 Hz
Intermodulation Distortion: .005%,1.5 V RMS equivalent sine wave input
Maximum Input Signal: 7 V RMS sine wave, midband
Noise Output: 80 dB be1ow 200 mV. 20-20,000 Hz bandwidth
Controls:
High Frequency Siope (Power Off, 0 dB, -3, -6 dB at 10,000 Hz); Tape-Source
Power Requirement: 110/120 V, 50/60 Hz. 3 W
AC Accessory Outlet: 200 W unswitched

The Interface EQs give a 6dB (IIRC) boost at between 28 and 35 Hz depending on which one you have, plus it includes a high pass filter to prevent woofer over-excursion. The owners manuals are still available on the EV/Telex website. The exact #s are available there.

It looks like you have a box, is that true?

28 Hz is pretty low and +6 DB at that level - it's gonna be subtle. It's not a for sure in your face change - if you listen to music that goes that low you will notice.

With Electrically amplified music that is deep bass territory.
If you like classical music, tympani drums will you delight.
Pop music you probably wont notice.

I like ealy 60s stuff recorded in stereo and some music you cant hear any diff, but if I play some SKA or Reggae the bass is there.
So it's gonna be dependent on source music for noticeable change. Funk music will be the most revealing. That's if'n ya like to get funky.
