Help Identify These Mystery Speakers

Can someone please help? I pulled these 12" speakers with whizzer cones out of some homemade cabinets that were supposedly "built by a Boeing engineer in the 70s or 80s." I can't seem to id them even with the codes. 810 3581 is printed on the back of both, and each cone has the code 74268 printed on them. I'm pretty sure the cones are made by EV, but the rest is a mystery. They measure about 10ohm each. Thanks in advance!

Sure looks like and sounds like an SP-12, 16 ohm probably. The basket is a little unique but EV did make six pointed baskets with those little strengthening ribs.

The fact that 40 Hz in written on one suggests that someone knew what he or she was doing, and measured the resonant frequency of the driver. Probably a good sign.

May we see the boxes? An engineer's homemade boxes would be very interesting to see.
