Help identifying crossover resistor

If you look at the most recent pic, that circuit board has a diode on it as well as transistors which are generally not seen in crossovers in a speaker unless it is an active speaker.
Both are used in many HF protection circuits from vintage to contemporary. Top pic is current production, bottom pic is 1981 Altec 14.

I just tried the other speaker. It looks like it might be smaller physically, but the same condition unfortunately
This photo shows resistors AND a diode right there. Looks like 1/4 watt resistors and 1 watt resistors. I haven’t came across any right angle edge resistors. Every diode I have in my electronics repair parts are all right angle ends. Even my 1 watt resistors are rounded off on the ends.
 
I think it's safe to say now both cooked parts are 56ohm resistors, the manufacturer used different brand resistors though and look physically different. Going forward, I'd make the new resistors 2 watt or more, vice 1 watt. Won't hurt anything to do so. And then treat it like a normal crossover refresh.
I'd also replace the thermistor & clean the 3 pots to minimize further cook outs. My 2 cents.

Carbon composition. (old style) IMHO Carbon film, meal film, wirewound are all better....

I think subtle differences in parts like this are why some folks fuss over sequential serial #'s on speakers. It all works the same at the end of the day and they worked well for a long time. As long as the drivers are the same... AK'ers will figure it out when they need maintenance.:smoke:
 
Thanks for all the feedback and information. I was considering doing just a simple replacement crossover, but I would rather keep the original functionality. Would this be a good choice for the 56 ohm resistor?

That resistor is a decent choice replacement IMO. The 10 watt green one on parts express is the best IMO. I'm less familiar with thermistors so maybe others will chime in. I'd like to know myself.
Noticed on image 1 it looks like there's another fried resistor stashed between the 2 coils lower right. Heads up.
If it was my project, I'd replace the 4 electrolytic caps, 3 silver 1 blue. It'll sound better and the new resistors won't cook so much again. Considering the age, the caps are dead.
But hey, resistors are identified and thread is accomplished. :beerchug:

Just to confirm, the yellow capacitor is a film cap and doesn't need to be replaced?
