Help! Need advice from the experienced dudes here.

Bought a 1968 StudioTone vintage cabinet last week (Canadian made) that has a Dual 1009SK TT installed as well as an old receiver that’s seen better days. I’d like to modernize this thing by pulling out the old receiver and replacing it with a mid/late 70’s receiver (Marantz 2200 or similar) and then pull out the speakers and replace those as well. Cabinet is in terrific condition and I”ve already cleaned the TT, salvaged and cleaned the headshell and replaced the stylus and pick-up (sounds pretty decent).
Anyway, advice and opinions would be more then welcomed, this is my first project of this magnitude and I”d like to hear from some of the more experienced dudes here. I have a primary system downstairs for myself, this would be upstairs in the house and be used to some degree by my teen boys so I will have to make sure that I have Bluetooth option in the AUX for the receiver.
My question basically is the following:
1)Can I simply (gently) detached and pull out that old narly receiver and all the assorted wiring and then replace it with an upgraded amp/receiver?
2)Left side speakers are not functioning but I’d like to replace all speakers anyways. Can/should I simply be looking for the same sort of speaker set up with the mids/woofer or can I go with an “all in one” sort of idea?
3)Finally, the Dual TT is great, those are old workhorses and I definitely want to keep her in the cabinet. Any issues/problems with hooking it up to the soon to be replaced receiver and speakers?

Not sure, I”m just a little nervous about the next steps and want to make sure that I do this properly...

The console seems to be in good condition, Personally, I would attempt to update/freshen up the receiver, and possibly install a discretely located power amp in order to retain the SW and original hardware. There is probably plenty of space in the box for another power amp. The speakers appear to be nothing unusual, although they are probably fairly efficient due to the probable low power output of the main amp.

I agree and that’s basically my plan. So you’d simply replace the speakers with brand new models of the exact same thing that’s in there already? I’m on the hunt for a nice vintage receiver right now to power the new speakers.

Good point! At this time I’d love advice from anybody up the chain that has a few minutes to spare. I’m just unclear as what to do with the speakers. The original set up is a component set up but I bought a Marantz 2215B last night to swap out for the original receiver and I”m wondering to do. The Marantz is 15W/channel at 8hms and most coaxial and components sets are 4hms....

The speakers are 3 ways, perhaps designing a crossover could make them sound decent at least. It's weird that all 3 drivers from one side are not working. Check wiring.

It may be worth restoring. That looks to be a pretty decent turntable for a console. I'm betting it even sports a magnetic cartridge instead of the more common crystal type. The tone arm looks pretty good also. It looks like a Dual. If you get all the speakers working just wire in a Sub for better low end.
