Help replacing LED?

Original part to be replace is a "SML1216W(D)". Its a dual color red and green led on the standby power button on a denon receiver.I'd like to replace it with a blue, single color that only glows when "on". Can someone tell me the voltage and amperage of the led? I'm fairly certain I will be replacing a 3 leg with a 2 leg. Thanks!!!!

Just make sure to get a blue LED with a 3 volt PIV rating or higher. Most will be pretty much a drop in replacement.

Thanks! Local rat shack has 5 volt. So any 2-3v blue led should work? Don't wanna fool with messing with the resistors for a different value led

There are two-lead dual color LED's and three-lead dual-color LED's. Which one you got?

FWIW, blue LED's are so common now on DIY stuff that it screams 'Hacked!'. Cheezy, but if that's what you want, it can probably be done.
