The amount of disposable income out there right now is staggering. We need to give them all free subscriptions to Barter Town.

...which is only $500 for a small player. To prove my point, a Francis Bacon painting just sold for $142,405,000. Don't get me wrong, I loves my bacon, but this seems a little over the top.

OH! It's motor is electric. Cool. Quite the gizmo!

It must have been one of THE most advanced sound systems of it's time.

That is an extraordinarily fine Edison, and it must be rarer than hen's teeth. Any collector would LOVE to have that one!

Still, that price is a bit mind-boggling. Makes the several thousand bucks someone was asking for (a different, lesser-model in poorer condition) one here seem a little less ludicrous than it seemed at the time.

Anyone else here collect Talking Machines?
