I have done nothing inappropriate and just use them for technical information and an occasional manual.

Even tried to set up another account but bounce back is not accepting new members.....

Are you using a VPN? If not, and you're accessing it from your home internet, do a little web searching about your ISP and how to change your IP address (it may not be possible or simple, however). If you're trying to access it from a school or corporate network, there may be nothing you can do except maybe use your cell phone's hot spot instead.

Please know that AudioKarma has NOTHING TO DO with th HiFi Engine,
tho we are sympathetic with the difficulty folks have there.
It has been a regular problem for a lot of folks ...

hjames...

Not sure where you got the impression I thought the "other" site HAD ANYTHING to do with AK. I asked a respectful question of others that may have seen the same issue in the past. I had seen the post about cookies and javascript and it was no help...still using Chrome, as I had in the past with no changes.

swechsler and JoeESP9 had sent responses and I replied with a simple Thank you and would try those hints.

My post seemed to meet the "Rules" of AK...

Your response, even though you are "Super Moderator" did not seem to be necessary within my post.

If I get banned for this reply, so be it. Just know that some need help here, outside of the scope of audio, and I was looking for individuals that may have seen this issue and the "other" sites FAQ's were no help.

Thank you again!!!! to swechsler and JoeESp9 for a concise, and hopefully helpful reply to me.

Delete if you want...ban if you want but, that's no way to grow this ever shrinking community of enthusiasts by chastising me for a legit question from common minded individuals.

Vintage audio and vinyl rules!!! Done and out....

No thought of flaming you or banning you or any of that. It's just that so many folks have issues with the VinylEngine and HiFi Engine sites,
and we had a report about your post (a comment to the mods kind of thing), so I gave a fairly common answer, reminding folks that its not part of the AK sites,
and linking to a recent post with some browser suggestions that worked for them. No worries.

And that, after all, is what it's all about here. Per previous comments on there being no connection between AK and HiFi Engine, that is apparent to most but not everyone. Remember many who may not know that read these threads and the clarification, I'm confident, was not directed towards you.

I've read a few posts lately that folks are having issues with both hifiengine and vinylengine. I've no problems with either and have in a few cases downloaded the info they wanted and sent it to them.

HFE does NOT work well (actually at all) with VPN's and adblockers.
I have to shut both off (actually shut adblocker off and "pause" VPN long enough to do a download) mine if I want to download anything.
I rarely download documents, it seems some of their issues are with people who download large groups and then offer individual downloads for purchase?

The OP's original post isn't anything different than posted issues with Amazon, eBay, streaming services, etc. I don't think the OP thought that HiFi Engine has any connection with AK. The moderator was nice enough to reference a thread that addresses some of the issues and any misunderstandings should be between the OP and the moderator. I don't see any reason for others to pile onto either person. At least the moderators used some good judgement instead of just banning the OP because someone reported it. Many times, the alarmists are the biggest problem on AK.

I have to admit that it always strikes me as odd when people posting inquiries about Hifiengine are told that AK has no affiliation with that site.

Seems like either an answer to a question not asked, or vaguely threatening.

Seems to me that questions about using Hifiengine are just as much (or more) about audio as anything else discussed here. Why would anyone report such a post?

Am I missing something here? I don't recall seeing similar responses to posts about the classicspeakerpages site, for example.

And bots. Folks and gear do not follow his rules, one membership per and when he opens registration the site gets flooded with the same unit trying to join from numerous email addresses and such as well as units trying to download his whole site as you say.

He talks about this on his site, ve, not ak. JaS is the owner and he has been forthcoming as to the issues as the registration has been open for an hour, flooded and closed in recent months/past year or so.
