Hitachi D-600 belt kit

Hi all,
I have a Hitachi D-600 cassette deck that needs a full belt replacement.
When I bought it, it arrived with no belts
I’ve been trying to track down a pre-made belt kit, but I haven’t been able to find anything, and I wondered if the D-600 shares the same transport mechanism with other D-series models - the manual doesn’t really provide any information on that. I’m hoping to cross-reference belt specs from a model that’s better documented.
Does anyone know the belt specifications? Is there a pre-made belt kit that’s confirmed to be compatible, even if it’s listed under a different model number?

You could check Radio Shack/ Realistic tape decks, as Hitachi is supposed to be a supplier for them. You also should be able to get generic kits that give you an assortment of belts to try.

You might also check with this vendor to see if they can provide a belt kit for the D-600 since they offer belt kits for other Hitachi D-series models.

You can buy an assortment of 50 or 100 belts, flat or square, on Amazon for about $5 each. It will cover most applications if you know the correct belt path.

Check with kpcomponents in Canada I believe I saw your kit listed in their belt section.

Hi Penka, try webspareparts, they have loads of kits, and they also have a contact option in case they don’t have the one you need. Get in touch with them, as they can usually sort out the belts.
