Very cool video. Thanks for that. Musso & Franks is still there, but the J. J. Newberry and Woolworth's are gone now. That street has seen some big development in the last 15 years. I'm surprised they didn't drive by the El Capitan or Chinese theaters - that's the epicenter for tourists today.

I almost cringed when I saw that T-Bird almost get T-boned.

The music score is a good 15 years older than the film...And WHY do they ALWAYS have to "Watermark" stuff like this w/their stupid logos ?!? Kinda ruins it... But I like seeing stuff like this really, in a way, more than I do seeing TV or movies from then...This was just normal, everyday life rather than something "Made Up"...

Definitely '57 -- but I wonder why it says '53? Also interesting to note the high percentage of "new" cars. There's not very much pre-1950. Speaks to good economic times, or just post-war planned obsolescence?

That was done on purpose. A Caddy, selling for roughly twice what a Chevy did, was EXPECTED to be "Flashy", & unless you got a Bel Air, Chevys were kinda on the plain side. However, Cads couldn't be TOO Outre', lest they run off their older, more conservative clientele. Arguably, the 2 flashiest Cad years of 'em all were the 1957 & '58 models...Altho the '59, w/those huge tailfins, was pretty "Out There"... My grandad had a tan '60 Sedan DeVille, it was basically the same as '59, but the fins were toned down quite a bit. It was STILL a "One-Car Parade" oozin' down the street...He traded it in '68 for another SDV, that one was that Gawdawful "Avocado" color, that was a nauseating combo of gold, brown & green...They would have been more correct if they'd called it "Babyshit"...
