IME/O headphones can't produce a soundstage. Some sound more open and airy than others. However, having all the sound come from inside the head from one ear to the other does not constitute a soundstage.

FWIW: I have several pairs of headphones from several manufacturers. In my 53+ years with this hobby the only times I've heard a soundstage from headphones was/is when listening to a binaural recording.

Absolutely, I've only ever had the opportunity once as a teen and it's stuck with me for almost 50yrs.

I have a couple of binaural recordings including the Stereo Review Binaural Demonstration LP.

Once when listening to a binaural classical recording I had an almost uncontrollable urge to tell the person behind me to stop crinkling paper.
