I've currently got the following in my HT (Living Room):
Jamo D830s
NHT Super8 Sub
Paradigm SE Center
Denon AVR-X2000
Here are my thoughts. Can someone tell me if I am way off base or if this sounds reasonable?
I feel like the Jamos are under-utilized in this setup. I've got this mis-mash of decent speakers, but nothing really fits all the way. To be fair, my dad gifted me the NHT sub and Paradigm center, so they were great gets. My thought is maybe use the Jamos in a 2 or 2.1 setup upstairs to create a "listening room." If I were to go that route, what would be a good receiver/amp to power the Jamos? I have a B&O 4002 that I would like to have up there. It's currently collecting dust as I have moved fairly recently. I was thinking maybe something vintage for the listening room. Maybe a decent Craigslist find? Do I need a sub with the Jamos?
That would make the upstairs:
Jamo D830s
B&O Beogram 4002
Some kind of integrated amp/power amp/tube amp/vintage receiver
Possibly some kind of DAC to play Tidal streaming
That leaves the home theater room speaker-less. If I could find them, maybe get the Paradigm SE 1 or SE3 speakers to match the center? Any ideas? I would say the budget for everything might be $1500-$2000. I'm willing to go used or new. Also open to the idea of building some kind of whole house system in the basement and powering everything. But that might be a bit difficult since the house was built in 1912. Is this even worth the trouble? Am I wrong to assume the Jamos are under powered at the moment? I've heard some amazing sound out of them at times, but nothing compared to how they sounded on my friends Interga setup.
