Homemade Flux

Once you buy one of those blocks, what to you do with them?

Throw them in your junk drawer.. And purchase from Amazon...

Once you buy one of those blocks, what to you do with them? Anything? They look like a solid block of rosin. Crush it up and mix it with ipa?

I would suppose crush them down and dissolve is some kind of solvent..Like I said I wouldn't mess with it. If you want a block. I think I have one in my junk drawer...Was going to try it on some dial string one time and it really didn't help.

I wouldn't use IPA.. A perfume grade ethanol would be better. When IPA evaporates it leaves a film behind.Perfume grade -- food grade 190-200 proof

I don't have any flux and I figured that I should have some on hand just in case, you know? And hey, if you an easily make your own, do it. This is the DIY forum after all.

Just looking that bottle of Everclear gets me drunk. Whoah!
