60K in LPs. That's some going and would definitely take some storing.

a hundred or so 45s
a half-a-dozen Edison Discs
150 or so cassettes
and about a hundred 8-tracks

Modest numbers, but growing...

500-plus CDs, all types of music except rap/techno/house stuff, which I don't like... guess I'm too old.

Only about 50 LPs, when I used to have about 1,000 as a teenager (including 400 collectible/rare/signed 78s which I seriously pursued) but I've only gotten back into vinyl for a couple of months, so I'm pleased with what I have found so far. Have some nice Japanese classical pressings, 2 good SQ quads and some 60s/70s/80s rock/pop classics. Neeed to get rid of some papers and books and re-do my shelving to make room before I accumulate too many more LPs!

Oh, and I have about 50 45-rpm discs I bought in one lot. Includes some early ones like Tommy Dorsey, through Patti Page, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley, etc...

:scratch2: I like to have music to keep what ever schizo personality occupying my brain at the time happy. No I have not listened to all of them. but all the many personalities haven't showed up yet. I will not have to play any album twice maybe for the rest of my life and I get to hear music I might not normaly listen to. Think library of music.

Haven't counted LP's but my guess is about 500. Brought 10 home yesterday from the record store ($135).

No doubt it is a collection growing faster than my bank account!

i need after some buys a while - when i get 20 interesting new records new (used..) i always listen them to check them for damage. This is not areal listening... then i kick all faulty - after this i listen them for their content. if i like the content or they are worth keeping because other characteristics, they stay in the collection, some even to be traded later.
sure i cannot listen to 800 LPs every day. but i can listen to what i like anyday of the year. New music is rare on LP, and new music i like is also rare. the new music that really turns me on i try to catch life if possible, or i get me the cd, but only few are worth it at time. but this is really few, compared with the old stuff i buy to complete my collection.

Of the 35 or so lps i have bought recently, all of them have been released post 1995, and most post 2000. I think you must just be looking in the wrong places, though i gather youre not looking for new music really anyway, so meh.
