How much "watts" would ADS L-Series and M-Series required ?

Hi,

I'm strongly interested in the 80s-90s ADS home speakers, their appearances, their reputations, etc. Also in my car systems, I've used to them very much, the PQ10, 320i, 320is, 320i/s, PH15.2, 642ix, AL4, A5is etc. because they are very famous in my hometown at 20-30 years ago. But in the home system, I have to confess that I never experienced with them before. Now the prices of good secondhand are affordable for home speakers.

Do the ADS home speakers sound similar to their car audios ?

I like the look of the L-XX90 series and M series. Are they difficult to drive with small-size amp ? The muscle look of them lead me to think of more than 100 Watts amp required. But I have a few unemployed mid-end integrated amp that rated at 40-50 watts in my hands i.e. Luxman L-220, Luxman L-205, Marantz PM-385. I'm not sure whether they can drive the ADS L or M series ? Or I shall set amount of budget to buy the muscle amp for them.

ADS car speakers do sound similar to their home speakers, but with the home speakers the sound of the drivers are optimized by the enclosure. I drive a pair of L520's with a 20 watt tube integrated and have had success driving them, in a small room, with a under 10 watt singled ended tube amp.
 
In my car system, I used to experienced with S10, S8s, AS10 and RS12 subwoofers. I like the way they play the "piano" sound very much. Every note hit me deep in my heart, so sweet subs. I heard that the L series and M series home speakers use the same drivers of woofer as auto. Is it real ? If so, the ADS home speakers may not really need much power to drive them (?) Because in my car system, the amp are rated at 50W at sub channel, a/d/s/ amp, and highest at 100W, for soundstream amp, I ever used.

ADS speakers have a devoted following on this forum. 40-50 watts RMS is plenty to drive the L series speakers. The M series is not as cherished as the L series. Apparently there were some design issues with the cross-overs for the M's.

The ADS car speakers do sound quite a bit like the home speakers; the drivers have a similar design. I know the car speaker drivers do not interchange with the models I own; L-520s, L-710s, and the L-1290s.

I drove a pair of L-520s for years using a 30 watt rms tube amp, and thoroughly enjoyed it. 70 watts rms will drive the L-1290s to a pretty high decibel level in a small to mid-sized room. I'm currently putting together a bi-amp system for my L-1290s. They'll have 75 watts on the mids/tweets, and 75 watts on the woofers. Each side will have it's own 2 channel amplifier (Parasound HCA-750A). This will be too loud to crank in my room, but it will have great dynamics at more reasonable volumes.
 
I have the L630's and I am driving them with a Sansui AU-11000, so 110 W per channel. When I first got them and was checking them out I ran them on my Kenwood bench amp which is 40 W per channel and they sounded great.
