How to deep clean a tube amp

What is the safe way to clean under the belly (components side) of the tube receiver? Fisher 400 in this case.
This receiver is all original and has been smoking all its life. I got it running on variac and DBT today. Still need to figure out the tuner issue.
I need to wash it before I do any restoration work to it.
Is scrubbing bubbles brushing followed by distilled water a safe approach to make sure no small capacitor and other component markings get erased?
What about small tuner inductors and coils underneath? How do they handle this type of "abuse"?

I read in a couple of places, about ultra sonic cleaning the chassis and other components. Anyone here has done it, I done ultra sonic cleaning, to watch parts, tools and jewelry but electronics not yet. I seen some videos about some cel phone parts and/or pcb.

I have a 500C with a couple of loose knob brights. I've searched this thread but didn't see advice on exactly what glue is best for reattaching brights. Clearly NOT anything that will melt the plastic! Plain old white glue?

I was thinking to use Gorilla Super Glue (not standard Gorilla glue) on my 400 since it stays somewhat pliable. Regular super glue is brittle.
