How to get smoke residue off amp faceplate?

Nicotine is only removed fast and efficiently with an water base cleaner. I was raised in a smoking home and back then warm water and ammonia was used a lot and works good, windex has ammonia in it.

However Simple Green works really good and is what I would use first.

The easiest , safest way too get nicotine residue, dirt, oil, or even years of someone's food covered hands touching the face plate is soaking all desired pieces that want to be cleaned an shiny like fresh off the showroom floor is to take a tub fill it with dish soap w/ degreaser oxy power is just the brand I happen to use. Put soap in first then the parts an fill with hot water, let it soak over night. After that empty it , grab a wash clothe, an old toothbrush, qtips an toothpicks for those hard to reach areas an get to wiping! It literally wipes right off. Here's a before and after pic of sx 434 I just did last week.
