Any advice on the best way to attach new grill cloth to the plastic frames of the 200 watt HPM-100?

Don't know specifically about HPM-100's but on all others I have re-grilled, I have used 3M Super 77 Adhesive to attach the grill cloth to the frame.

JB Weldwood contact cement--sticks much better than the 3M 77

Magnepan recommends the 3M 77 for fixing delamination issues, but every reliable thread will swear by the JB Weldwood contact cement as a better option.

I've also used Gorilla Glue cyanoacrylate adhesive for Infinity grills, just get it right the first time because it sets instantly and there is no "second chance".

HPM-100 grill frames are wood, not plastic. The fabric is attached with staples. If you have plastic frames, they are likely some kind of aftermarket replacements. Contact cement, dried to an immobile tackiness would be appropriate.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Just FYI so there's no confusion later on, 100 watt HPM-100's are wood frames and the fabric is stapled on. 200 watt HPM-100's are plastic and the fabric is fused to the frame. The frames are interchangeable, however, I think the dowel pins are different sizes.

I have never seen an HPM-100 with a plastic frame and I have had many of both versions come through here. I have two sets of each in my current inventory (3 pairs in my main rig). I have also replaced the grill fabric on both versions . There is no difference between the grills on either version. There may have been a "late" production change that I have not seen. You could have after-market frames. How are the badges attached to your plastic frames? Can you show picks of the back of the grills?

Enjoy,
Rich P
