I got a box today.

Funny cat, looks exactly like mine, stripes, box and all. :thmbsp:

Wow, I gotta start helping people more. :D

That is just one of the cats, we have two others. One of them a big 21lb cat (and he isn't fat, just big). They all gang up on the first person up in the morning.

That amp originated up in Montreal from a garage sale. Dogscanskate sent it to me for free, I traded it to Mike Gibson for an extra Denon DCD-15*0 CDP but by the time I was about to ship, he bought another Mc amp and said to give it to someone else. Almost had it given away to targeteye but he declined in lieu of someone else who needed it more. One night, Jon was talking about needing an amp for his band and he'd been pretty helpful to others, so I had my new victim for that ugly beast. :)

That history really shows the lack of greed, the tendency to acts of "good Karma", that permeates the AK community. Well done, guys! :thmbsp: X_25, just make sure when the band is done using it, that it gets fixed up nicely as you say (or at least passed on to the next worthy person!).

It's a "beater", but still a beautiful amp, that deserves a little better than it has received (IMO).

It is gonna get fixed up and used until I find something better (unlikely with my budget, but no impossible), and when I upgrade it will probably be passed to a friend, who I just gave a Marantz SR-1000 to about two weeks ago, to upgrade from the cheep fisher stuff before that. The fisher stuff i passed on to another friend looking to get into vinyl but lacking anything with a phono in. It is so great to surprise people with things like that, especially when they have a use for it and actually use it. :thmbsp:

I had a feeling that had "Newman" & Mike Gibson were involved in there somewhere. They are just class acts. :thmbsp:
PS. Your cat looks just like my Maceo cat. My cat's name is Maceo...:D

If that's defined as really beat up, I'd hate to think what category some of my gear would fall into...:D

Great story. It is so good to know that there are still some "good guys" out there. AK is a great place to be.

It looks good in the pictures, but it was nearly ready to fall apart when I got it, Most of the screws were missing. The thing that scares me the most is that the transformer mount is bent, it is 1/8" metal to hold the tyranny, must have taken a good shock to bend that.
