I'll have mine, along with a couple of their frequency counters at the end of the month. One of the Frequency counters is going to be attached to my Jackson 640 RF signal generator. They give these vintage RF generators a new lease on life.

Lafayette Lab Tester

Come across this awhile back, not your run of the mill tester. Came new in the box never had any batteries installed, called for a 1-1/2 volt D battery and a 15 volt battery, that one was a little tricky to make up.Tell me what you think! Works great.:yes:

Doesn't appear to be a cap tester, just a voltmeter.

That Lafayette is similar looking to a Simpson 269, but with a completely different switch mechanism. I would like to get the movement right on my 269, it hangs a bit. Its a gorgeous looking meter with a huge movement, and its very sensitive. 100kohm/volt, when the 260 was only 20kohm/volt. Not sure if the Lafayette has similar sensitivity but it should be nice and easy to read.

@ dukiedook yep your right should have started my own thread elsewhere for the Lafayette. Hindsight 20/20.
@ gadget not sure about your Simpson 269 but will look it up. Yes the Lafayette is super sensitive 100,000 ohm per volt DC and 5000 ohm per volt AC. The Mark VIII I love was a gift to me last Christmas from a friend of 40 years, it's awesome. Sorry for getting this thread off track of capacitor checkers.:nono:
