Yesterday I called several outfits lookin' for a Gas Leak Detector that does LEL, & O2. Had to be a Confined Space model, which apparently makes a difference. I asked these places to fax me some info, & I'd give it to our engineer. All of 'em said they'd e-mail me the info. This AM, not a damn one of 'em had. Called my IT lady, thought I might have given them a bogus e-mail address. Nope. People are too lazy to even fax 3 or 4 sheets of paper anymore, it takes effort to get yr fat ass up outta the desk & waddle over to the fax machine. Now, apparently, they're too lazy to even e-mail stuff.."Customer Service" in America ? Fuggeddaboutit...These doohickeys are $750-1000, at least, looks like SOMEBODY would put forth the effort to try to make a sale...That's the thing, half these outfits you call anymore act like they're doing you the biggest favor to even answer the phone...

Well, lotsa these outfits have one or 2 people to field calls from all over the country..You spend 1/2 hr on the phone listening to Dentist's Office music, punctuated by "All of our sales representatives are busy...Blah, blah, feckin' blah..." or somesuch every 15-30 seconds. Sometimes, you REALLY need to talk to a real, live, actual, genuine person....Of course, I do it basically outta spite...

What's worse about waiting and finally having some answer a "Customer Service" line is when you can't understand them and they only have scripted answers to questions that you haven't even asked. My wife spent over two hours last night trying to resolve a problem with a trip that we booked with Travelocity. Their customer dis-service operator was in India. She could hardly understand him and he obviously could care less about the problem. When she pressed him for an answer they "accidentally" disconnected her when they put her on hold again. Travelocity lost a repeat customer over that incident.:thumbsdn:

Tell me about it ,,i contacted a realtor in Wisconsin Caldwell Banker about looking at some property ,,they replied via e-mail stating they would contact me ,,, 2 weeks have passed so far no call, sent them another e-mail no response,, e-mailed a Remax agent in the same town and was contacted by him within a 1/2 hour guess who i,m dealing with

I don't understand people sometimes. I work on commission, and in this situation, woe is he who stands between me and the fax machine.
