Every FM station comes in chrystal clear, stereo and mono.

I get stations I didn't used to get at all with my 6ft long dipole T style antenna.

Very impressed.

Not to rain on your parade, but it's simply a folded dipole bent back on itself in order to yield (supposedly) an omnidirectional pattern. Whatever you do, don't move it, because even a slight relocation might significantly degrade your results.

In other words, the performance of indoor VHF and UHF antennas is often highly dependent on location and surrounding objects.

I believe RCA used to sell an "S" shaped folded dipole like that as an omni, and Radio Shack marketed them under their Archer brand. The only potential problem with that type is multipath interference.

Right. I still see lots of old circular and "S" folded dipoles on top of commercial buildings. Probably used to pipe in background music from local stations. They are sturdy and have low wind loads, so you put 'em up and forget about 'em.

I dont dispute that, but it is working 75 times better than my other dipoles and as I was testing different locations trying to find the sweet spot, I found that it did not matter where is was. Every station pegged with static free audio regardless of where it was.
 
I can't judge how far it is above the metal rack...that could cause some detuning of the antenna. The omnidirectional attempt may cause some funkiness.

I'll have to try modeling that configuration and see what it would do to the pattern.
 
I've had the same antenna for a couple years, mounted in the attic of my garage. It does a pretty good job.

My original intent was to put it In the attic thinking that it needed to be up there in order to perform at its best. I hooked it up temporarily just to make sure it worked as seen in the pic after playing around with a few different locations. It worked so well, I just left it there. I may bring it up to the attic at some point.
 
Looks like a great solution! Beats the heck out of a cut yagi mounted in your living space -
tho you get more gain from a yagi and could reach over and hand align it for low power stations.
I've gone that route when I was single, and when I lived between DC and Bal'mer,
and campus radio was more a thing, but these days, I prefer your circular antenna!
 
I have mine attached to a paint roller extension rod, propped up in a corner. I'm in the process of remodeling and when that's done, and the system moved, it will go into the attic. It does work good. Now, if only my tuner worked better.

Found the antenna is much better when you straighten out the elements-and create a traditional vertical 1/2 wave antenna A 1/2 wave antenna with it's elements on a horizontal plane is not ideal for receiving FM radio signals in all directions- it's on the wrong plane-so to speak.
While it might not look as cool, you will be surprised by the difference in performance.
It's a simple mod to straighten out the elements, and flip the pole bracket.
