No matter how much you might like a particular company, at the end of the day it's still a BOTL piece.

I see stuff like that a lot in the local online classifieds. Take a BOTL or MOTL piece and ask a perfectly fair price, perfectly fair for the TOTL. Often on Marantz gear, maybe because a lot of people associate them with valuable vintage gear without really knowing much about them.

Basically sellers hoping to snare some one who is not sure how the model numbers work or what they mean on vintage gear.

According to ClassicAudio.com, $250.00 was the price for it new. Maybe he looked that up and thought it was the current value.

He probably checks out the prices some Marantz are bringing on the bay.Don't get me wrong. Marantz is good gear but I have seen what some of these BOTL and Motl gear are bringing.Prices I wouldn't pay.
