If I Told You What It Takes to Reach the Highest High...

Report from another forum:

Todd has acquired three 2405H UHF drivers for installation in his system.... :thmbsp:

And I repainted them and had the AlNiCo magnets recharged. I pick them up at OCS this morning.

Still, the banded 24025 does present a smoother, more extended 10-20kHz region. :scratch2:

"AlNiCo magnets recharged" What does that cost? Is it different for different drivers?

Also Todd, on AK no for sale or wanted are allowed in the open forums, take it to the (Member Classifieds)
Thanks..

I believe you will find the 2405's wider dispersion and consequently more uniform power response advantageous in your setup.

If you want to flatten their response above 10 kHz, that may be easily accomplished with a bit of HF comp, as well....

OCS does it for $25 per driver regardless of type (woofer, mid, tweeter).

Thanks, I pulled the "ad."

Just got here!

Hello Todd!

I finally got here! I am all logged in and everything!

This is my first post here, but am very active at Lansing Heritage. It is very good to see the plots on the bastard bullet. I am glad that there is a forum that will encourage DIY. I am a DIY enthusiast also, but generally stay with JBL stuff as I know it better than any other.

So... bring on the noise!

Scotty.

HI, Scotty!

[Like Todd and Linda, Scotty and Lisa are long-time pals from LHF, folks.... :thmbsp: ]

Great to have you here Scotty! You get a taste of things that will never be seen at the other place. :thmbsp:

Todd

Thanks!

I have been trying to keep up and read the posts here. There are SOOO MANY!!!!

I am interested in the results of Todd's franken-bullets, and also, Zilch's econo wave projects.

I am fairly well versed in JBL PRO, and moderately versed in JBL monitors, but am always open to new arrangements of drivers on a baffle board. With that said, please help me to find newer speakers with a JBL product slant. Preferably vintage or current JBL Pro style of drivers.

I am a wood-worker and like to build cabs. Always have, always will. I am a reconer and always try to help the other guy with trades and parts.

Thank you for the invite, Todd. I hope this will be a fruitful forum experience.

Scotty.

These pics are of some older cabs I re-purposed. They started out as a Cabaret 4628 wannabee, to a SR4735a. A much more usable cab for my nightclub. I also made another pair of these out of another pair of cabs I received.

Please don't be afraid to re-purpose cabs!!! A newer baffle board and driver complement can be a breath of fresh air to a box holding up a desktop, or router table!

I'm with yu on the reuse cab deal..

My HPM's got reuse and many more, I to have 4628B cabs, I'm hoping one pair can turn
into a quite nice set of speakers. :)

Thanks!
