If you own a turntable and LP's, how old are you?

I'm 32 and have two, an AR ES-1 in good working order and a B&O Beogram 8000 that will be up and running when my new tachodisc arrives.

A lady never admits her age. But I'll say this much...I bought a lot of those albums that they now call "Classic Rock" brand new when I was in high school and college.

50 years old and I always had an album collection. I also play my 45's regularly also. I own 5 turntables.

18 years of age. My passion began to lift off right at 16. That was the day I received a Kenwood KR-A5050 from my dad. Shortly after, I inherited an Onkyo seperate system, which came with a CP-1100A turntable with a Shure 500S cart. My whole life took an immediate turn to the passion of Hi-fi since then.

Currently I have two working, and in-use turntables:

*Onkyo CP-1100A, modified from it's generic form with a Shure 500S cart, N94e stylus, and custom re-wired with phone line, the correct way, using an independent ground lead. (it used to have some weird setup with just RCAs and a cap jumping all the grounds to the L neutral).

*Pioneer PL-550 with Pickering cart (forget what model). Newly restored. (you know what happens to things when they are put up to collect dust.) Needs a couple more things though.


Record collection of.....don't know the exact number.
Not a whole lot but it's enough to fill a whole milk crate and a half. Most are in good condition and shine like glass when you take them out.

I'm 27, I have one TT. That one was my first serious upgrade TT, had it for about 6-7 years, and I'm somewhere up around 1000 LPs and I'm not looking back! (New-ish to posting on AK but I've learned quite a lot from everyone so far.)

Just got back into vinyl with an AR-XA. Like the convenience of digital with the SBT. Kind of surprised how well cassettes sound with my Nakamichi RX-202.

The above TT's were purchased by me new in 1963 and 1975 respectively.

Empire 598 III - Empire 990 - current cart Empire 4000D/III w/Empire 238-DEQ biradial stylus
Sony TTS-3000 - Sony PUA-286 - current cart Audio Technica AT14S w/Audio Technica ATN14 stylus
Sony PS-2251LA - SME 3009 S2 - current cart Audio Technica AT20SL Limited Edition w/Audio Technica ATN20SS stylus

All of the LP's in my collection were purchased new by me. There has to be something good about being this old.

Most are in working order but some need minor work and a couple need plinths made for them. And no, I don't think I have the most on AK.

18 here.. maybe about 150 records and two record players ( a Dual 1225 and an silver faced 70's sony lol).
Just last year i found an old copy of dark side of the moon, and decided i wanted to listen to it on something.. and suddenly eyes are open and I'm buying all sorts of things I'd had no interest in most of life, chasing the best sound haha
