I'm clueless and want to buy some good gear, help?

Are talking about the NAD 3020 integrated amp? That is a killer amp.
Probably one of the best NAD has made. I have two much better amps, but would love to own a 3020 because it is a classic. It's one of the only NADs I would consider buying.

If you can get one that works well at a good price, snatch it. But it is vintage so you'd have to get a clean one and check with NAD to see if they would still service it or another electronics shop. My two cents..

I think it has the phono section input and another input for a digital source. Someone here can correct me if I am wrong. I think it's lower power output so it will not be able to drive speakers that are a tough load.

Again, my two cents...

That's the one yeah, I'm hoping to get one on Ebay.
I just splurged and bought a pair of Grado SR325i's and Audio Technica AT95E cartridge; there goes my savings.

I used a NAD 3020 to power a set of very inefficient AR93s which it did it for several years without breaking a sweat!

It could be a good option if the OP could find one in completely working order for under/around $125 U.S. which shouldn't be too hard to do now-a-days.

Although I don't quite agree with hyperbole you used to describe it. NAD made and continues to make better equipment than the 3020. The thing that won the 3020 its spot in history was the performance it delivered at its price point when it was on the market in the late 70's.
