Seems way high to me. I've been looking for more than a year, have been outbid on EBay and watched them sell for $300 - $350 more than once. Finally got a good pair for $230 a month or so ago.
I'd say $300 ish seems about right for these.
I'm not far from Northborough, if anybody is interested.

The black one's are Infinitesimal III's, also called 0.3's. The tops, bottoms, and trim are a black plastic called Persperex rather than the oak used on the 0.1's and 0.2's and the III's do not have a Watkins 5" woofer like the earlier two models but instead a conventional 5" poly cone speaker such as was used as a mid on other Infinity models. Consequently, $300 is pretty high.
The Infinitesimal's on sale are 0.1's and I'd also say that $350-$400 would be a fair price.
I wasn't sure about the Watkins, which is one reason I didn't go after these. I had read that some had the watkins some didn't (the car version), but you know how the internet is for accurate info (outside of AK of course). I'd love a pair of the originals someday.
:yes: Plus they seem to command a "collectors' premium" in the market.

Yes, they produce far more bass and play way deeper than you'd ever think possible from such a small enclosure.

The information on the Infinity Classics site for the III or 0.3 is confusing. The tech sheet says they do have Watkins woofers but the schematic shows a single VC woofer. I have a pair of Infinitesimal III's with the black Persperex and they do not have the Watkins woofer. I also have a pair of 0.1's with grey poly Watkins woofers and a pair of 0.2's with clear poly Watkins' and that is the extent of my expertise. I also managed to snag a pair of 5" black poly Watkins woofers that must have been sold as replacements at some point in time. The first and only time I've ever seen such a thing. They were supposedly pulls from a pair of Reference Studio Monitors which of course makes no sense but because they were mis-identified I got them for cheap.

In this case, the marketing hype is true, so I guess that means its not hype really. All I know is most of the classic Infinity's that use the Watkins dual-voice coil woofers have pretty astonishing bass performance.
