Infinity Kappa 9 - Central MO - $200

That is one hell of a crossover. A friend of mine had them. They sounded great. I would have been over there last night if I lived closer.

I'm confused.
Are those the ones for sale or someone elses?
Guess today hasn't arrived yet as still no pictures in the original ad.
Sounds like not well versed on audio gear they have as "no front covers" and the ask is very low unless they are abused and/or parts missing substituted, etc.

I doubt those are the speakers for sale, just a pair that had a rebuilt crossover. It does appear as if the seller is somewhat uninformed, but that's not unusual.

Just thinking it might explain the possibly very low price.
Unless they are totally wrecked parts alone should easily be worth the ask.

Yeah that pic was not the ones for sale. He may not be bothering to post pics since I have an appt. tonight to look. Seller says they are hooked up so we can play em and make sure all the drivers are working.

I was thinking that about parts, if the cabinets are really bad. Not sure what the 'cabinet damage' is yet.

You people are a bunch of enablers, ya know.

I'd be finding the money for them..
I used to go listen to this model and bring my own CD's to listen to them "Audition Them" and compare ...
Those were a set Dream Speakers!

 When I said I was 'looking', that meant 'looking with intent.' Just don't see a lot of Infinities around here. Smaller ones, yeah - I have a pair of Qb in my shop system, and also a pair of Monitor Jr. refoamed and ready for a new home, but nothing fancier than that.

****, I thought you were on this, Tox??? Missouri ain't too far away for me to boogie on down there, lol.

I am on it! Going to look tonight, would have been last night but my truck was hitched to a trailer I had to unload and then haul it somewhere else and THEN the truck was free to haul speakers. And there's this pesky job thing.

You can get em from me after they're spruced up at Tox's Speaker Spa. :naughty: :deal:

Bring a back support, these things are heavy.

Heavy?? You mean like.....these??

My backside (and by backside I mean my anus) throbbed for a month after carrying these things up a small flight of stairs.
My days of bear-hugging things over 100 lbs are over. I need to admit this to myself, before I get hurt.

I managed to move a set of DefTech BP2000s (also very heavy, I think around 120lb each) by wrapping them in a blanket and putting them on a hand truck. I also had my son standing by just in case. But the Kappas are more fragile because of the Polygraphs and Polydomes that protrude from the front baffle.

ETA: looks like I win, the Interface Ds only weigh 114 lb each. :)

In this hobby a good appliance dolly is worth it's weight in gold. (Platinum if you are over 50!!) It protects gear and backs!
